Syracuse "Shining" Stars (Alumni Watch):

We begin a new season with the Stars Alumni Watch in this issue. Former Stars playing in the NHL this season are Tim Connolly (Buffalo Sabres), Dustin Brown (Los Angeles Kings), Brian Gionta (New Jersey Devils), and Freddy Meyer (New York Islanders). In the AHL the former Stars are Kevin Montgomery (Lake Erie Monsters), Dan Collins (Rochester Americans), Tim Sestito and Rob Schremp both with the Springfield Falcons, Tim Sestito and Rob Schremp both with the Springfield Falcons, Tom Sestito with our Syracuse Crunch and T. J. Fox (Worcester Sharks). In the ECHL the former Stars include Matt Auffrey (Augusta Lynx) and Todd Jackson (Ontario Reign). Former Stars forward Matt Murley and goaltender Robert Esche are both playing this season in Russia. Playing Major Junior hockey in the OHL are Ryan Hayes (Plymouth Whalers), Conor Stokes (Oshawa Generals), and Jesse Brown (Kingston Frontenacs). The alumni list will continue to grow as other professional leagues, colleges and other junior leagues begin their seasons. In future issues the alumni watch will include statistics.
