What Goes Around Comes Around
The Stars B team travelled to Buffalo this past weekend to continue the home and home series against them. Syracuse looked to increase their lead on Buffalo after sweeping the two games at home. But as the old saying goes “what goes around comes around” Buffalo swept the two games against Syracuse on their home ice.
Buffalo scored the first three goals in Saturday’s game and cruised to an 8-3 win over the Stars. The Stars tried to make it a game as Myles Gaines and Bill Kent scored in the first period to cut Buffalo’s lead to 3-2. Buffalo then scored four unanswered goals to put the game out of reach. Scoring the other Stars goal was Andrew Kremer.
Syracuse looked towards Sunday’s game to split the series and to remain ahead of Buffalo in the standings. Again Buffalo took a two goal advantage after the first period. Zach O’Mara’s goal in the second period made the game 2-1. But in the third Buffalo put the game in their victory column as they scored two goals to make the final 4-1. By losing both games the Stars drop into fifth place, one point behind Buffalo. This weekend the Stars travel to Northern New York to take on the New York Coyotes in Potsdam.
