ATLANTA THRASHERS DRAFT FORMER SYRACUSE STAR IN NHL DRAFT
The Atlanta Trashers (NHL) with their third pick, 45th overall, selected former Syracuse Stars forward Jeremy Morin in the 2nd round of the 2009 NHL Player Draft. Morin, 18, from Auburn, NY has spent the last two seasons playing for USA Hockey Development team where he appeared in 46 games this past season with 26 goals and 22 assists for 48 points. He began his junior hockey career with the Stars (EJHL) back in 2006-07 where he had 26 goals and 28 assists for 54 points, 9th in the Eastern Junior League in scoring that season and was also named the league's Rookie-of-the-Year.
