Syracuse’s outstanding regular season, 30-9-1
After Syracuse’s outstanding regular season, 30-9-1, and tournament record, 12-1, the team continued to the playoffs. The season was ended in a heated series against the South Shore Kings. Stars were eliminated from the 2007/08 playoffs at the end of Sunday morning’s mini-game with a heartbreaking goal scored with 17 seconds left. This season’s success is a result of the superlative efforts of the Stars coaches and their players. Syracuse’s staff placed more players in collegiate programs than any other team in the league. Over 2 million dollars in college scholarships and grants were awarded to 12 of Syracuse’s players who have made commitments to colleges.
Syracuse announced their coaching staff for 08/09 as: GM and Coach Don Kirnan, Scott Montagna, John Walsh assisted by Don Kirnan Jr. The coaches will sustain the same competitive and serious attitude that dominated during the 07/08 Season. With this philosophy, the Syracuse coaches and their staff will continue to develop serious and committed hockey players and once again produce one of the most competitive teams in the Eastern Junior Hockey League.
Tryouts for the Syracuse Stars Jr. Teams for 2008/09 Season will take place at the Lysander arena April 12, 13 & 14. Check our website periodically for additional tryout dates and further information concerning directions and accommodations
