Sorenson to WNEC

Syracuse Stars goaltender Eric Sorenson has committed to Western New England College for the 2010 season. Eric has spent the last 3 seasons with the Stars Junior teams where he helped backstop the Jr. B's to a Nationals run in 2008 and has been a valuable member of the Jr. A team for the past two seasons. Coach Montagna on Eric. "Eric has been a quintessential team player as a goaltender for the Stars. He has put up solid stats when he has been between the pipes for us. He has put up good numbers this year including a shutout. Eric has always been there for extra workouts and instruction. He continues to work on getting better and stronger as a goaltender and will be a solid contributor to the Golden Bears. I think he can be a guy Coach Heffernan and his staff can look to as they work at building a winning tradition at WNEC. I have truly enjoyed getting to know Eric as a player and as an individual. I know he looks forward to getting an opportunity to go in and really compete for playing time with the Golden Bears."
Eric is the son of Mike and Camille Sorenson of Fairport, NY. He wanted to thank them for all of their support. The Stars wish him the best as he moves to a very competitive ECAC Northeast Conference.
