Stars Finish Regular Season 40-10-6-1 Overall

Hockey ActionThe Syracuse Stars wrap up the regular season 40-10-6-1 overall as they head into the quarterfinal round of the Eastern Junior Hockey League Playoffs this weekend in Foxboro, MA.

Syracuse, who spent most of the year at the top of the Northern Division, finished in second place behind the New Hampshire Monarchs, just two points shy of clinching the EJHL Regular Season Championship. Syracuse finished its' regular season league play with a 30-9-5-1 record. Stars' Captain Trevor Lewis finished the season as the EJHL Scoring Leader with 31 goals and 26 assists for 67 points in 45 games. Lewis, headed to Robert Morris University this fall, was a Northern Division All-Star Selection who led the EJHL this season with 8 game winning goals and tied for first with 5 short handed goals this season.

Stars' standout defenseman Dan Ford finished 3rd in scoring amongst defensemen in the EJHL this season with 5 goals and 34 assists for 39 points in 43 games. Ford, bound for Harvard University in the fall of 2009, was a Northern Division All-Star Selection.

Star's goaltender Chris Noonan finished the season 6th in the EJHL in goaltending with a 2.79 GAA and a .913 SV%. Noonan, who's heading to Niagara University this fall, was a Northern Division All-Star Selection who finished tied for first in the EJHL with 21 wins.

Syracuse finished the regular season league play with a 19.58 power play percentage, a 85.86 penalty kill percentage and a .733 winning percentage.

The EJHL semifinal rounds are March 8th and 9th in Marlborough, Ma with the EJHL Finals being held March 15th - 17th in Worcester, MA.
